WHY WE STAND OUT FROM THE REST
INNOVATION
Years of research, development and testing have led to a variety of innovations in our traction matting. AMS mats are customizable to almost any floor surface and environmental conditions. A cornerstone product which separates us from all other existing mat manufacturers is our Patent Pending Arctic Pad Line . As the only heated industrial traction mat available today, this innovative version is designed to combat and prevent the accumulation of ice or snow in both hazardous and non-hazardous locations.
POLYMER
We have a wide variety of polymers which allow our customers to tailor or design a mat package for their specific needs and industry applications. Ranging from our toughest polymers engineered for use in the drilling industry to our recycled material blends for lighter industrial and commercial applications - we have the right polymer for the right job.
The most important factor or component in providing non-slip solutions is the ability to provide the correct traction profile for the right situation. Traction can be defined as the “coefficient of friction” (COF). The coefficient of friction depends on the materials used. For example, ice on steel has a low COF, while rubber on pavement has a high COF. Rougher surfaces tend to have higher effective values. As the COF is an empirical measurement it has to be measured experimentally, and cannot be found through calculations. As such we have spent the time to develop some of the best traction profiles available today providing a variety of options with a high COF.

Dropped Object Solutions
Working at heights is a very high-risk environment. One of the most common incidents associated with working at heights is a dropped-object. Dropped objects can cause serious harm to people, damage equipment and cause downtime resulting in lost productivity. At AMS we feel that properly securing hand tools to a suitable anchor point is just as important as preventing someone from falling. That’s where LHR’'s Tethered Tools come in. As the Exclusive Canadian Distributor of LHR's Tethered Tools, these tools provide 100% tie-off protection for working safely at heights. No other system can boast that fact.
AMS Arctic Pads are self-regulating heated traction pads, that are ideal for winterizing operations by preventing ice and snow accumulation while protecting frontline workers from slip-fall type accidents and injuries. Arctic Pads are available in 25 or 32 MM (1" or 1-1/4")
Example: As the ambient temperatures increases (or decreases), the heated self-regulating core will draw more or (less) power precisely where and when it is needed, until achieving a predetermined operating level.
Simply put energy efficiency is accomplished without special or sophisticated controls.
HOW IT WORKS
When energized, the self-regulating technology of these mats perform by automatically adjusting the thermal output in relation to the surrounding ambient temperatures. The characteristic of our self-regulating core, combined with the insulation properties of our polymers and polymer blends, dramatically reduces energy consumption (heat-loss) as the mats achieve their optimal operating temperature and move into a cycle of maintenance.
By utilizing self-regulating technology, these all-season versions of traction matting are simple to install and use common power supply voltages. Arctic Pads draw a minimal amount of power depending on the environment and ambient temperatures, our heated system is ideal for all hazardous and/or universal installations.
INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY
At Advanced Mat Systems, our proprietary method of manufacturing, our commitment to innovation, combined with our heat technology allows our customers to utilize numerous matting options in the Arctic Pad Line. In every design we evaluate the application and our customers’ requirements ensuring the most efficient and suitable version possible is provided.

WHICH TRACTION PAD IS RIGHT FOR?
DRILLING INDUSTRY TRACTION PADS - COMMON VERSIONS
SAFETY PAD II FR and SAFETY PAD III FR
Custom moulded for heavy industrial applications such as drilling rig floors, rotary tables and pipe racks, our ¾"- 1½" mat provides a high-traction work surface for critical areas and walkways. Safety Pad II FR can be moulded for use on stairways, derrick boards and work-over/service rigs. Drainage grooves are moulded into the surface to assist in the control of fluids that can accumulate during drilling operations and all pads come standard with a non-skid coating for additional traction and durability. Safety Pad III FR performs with a high profile traction rather than studs.
CS150 PIPERACK-SETBACK PADS
Fluid channels are moulded directly into the design in one direction facilitating drainage and providing extra traction. These pads are built to withstand the compression and weight of all drill pipe. CS-150 resists the effects of invert and other corrosive drilling fluids.

Another component that sets AMS apart is our understanding of our clients’ needs and the wide range of industrial demands they operate in. Our selection of proven polymers and blends allows us to offer solutions tailored to each and every one of our clients’ needs.
We realize that utilizing our traction matting in the drilling industry, it needs to be the most rugged and durable polymer composition possible, while conversely when installing a set of pads on a wind turbine in the North Sea or on a stairway to a building entrance, a lighter duty polymer is beneficial both economically and practically.
Select your POLYMER from the list below (Step 1):
HEAVY DUTY
(HD) CS100
This polymer is our heavy duty and most durable available, primarily used in tough industrial, corrosive or chemical sites. HD is ideal for use in demanding sites such as rotary tables, offshore platforms and vessels, mining operations and any other hazardous locations where positive tractions is essential.
FEATURES
Ultra Duty is our high density polymer primarily used in industrial, corrosive or chemical sites where compression is present such as pipe-rack pads or setback matting in the drilling industry.
APPLICATION
This polymer is primarily used for Racking Pad or Pipe Rack Mats. These mats has been proven to improve the efficiency of tripping pipe by reducing potential lost time and eliminating unnecessary risks. This polymer is 100% solid urethane elastomer and is made of a higher density than our standard traction pads. Fluid channels are moulded into the design in one direction, facilitating positive drainage and extra traction.
Ultra Duty is built to withstand the compression and weight of all drill pipe, and is resistant to the effects of invert and other corrosive drilling fluids. The thickness 38.10 MM (1-1/2").
As directional drilling is a prominent and important part of drilling operations, efficiency needs to be an aspect of every operators play book. The historic method of racking pipe is birdbaths or on gator racks slows operations down with multiple pipe strings in use. Modernize your operations, trip all sizes of pipe smoothly, eliminate wasted time and remove hazards. Also available upon request is our heated version - Arctic Racking Pad.
A Medium Duty polymer primarily used in light industrial or commercial sites. This polymer is ideal for demanding sites such as drilling rigs, offshore platforms, marine vessels, plants, refineries, facilities, military sites or any other hazardous or non-hazardous location where positive tractions is essential.
LD is our eco-friendly blend which combines recycled rubber and our TC90 Medium Duty (MD). Light Duty is a versatile blend used in light industrial, commercial and for general use. Ideal uses for this polymer are manufacturing facilities, wind turbine platforms, marine decking, passenger boarding ramps or wheel chair ramps, etc.
This is our anti-fatigue polymer. This composition will not only reduce the risk of slips and falls, it can reduce back, leg and foot aches and pains, resulting from prolonged standing and exposure to cold, heat and vibration which is the leading cause of work fatigue. Anti-fatigue matting improves ergonomics, body mechanics and enhances almost any environment, giving individuals a performance boost.
Standing static can have crippling effects as one's body mass load, presses down on joints, crushes blood vessels flat, causing alot of strain and fatigue. The body is designed to move and be dynamic. The AF version reduces all these effects in industrial, commercial and non-industrial environments.
ULTRA DUTY
