Project Description

AMS® secured this project due to being recognized as leading experts in winterization, supported by our track record of successfully outfitting drill floor matting in the past. The scope of this project was to provide a complete winterization package for a high traffic area where ice and snow accretion was a consistent hazard.  We engineered and designed a couple of systems, all of which had to be rated for Ex environments. 

The initial step involved installing Arctic Pad® on existing walkways. Every aspect was custom manufactured to meet specific requirements such as size, shape, drainage, mounting, ambient temperature, cold channel routing, and Ex environment. Arctic Pad© stands as the only product on the market that fulfills all these requirements.

The second step involved engineering an Ex-certified, portable stainless-steel control & distribution panel with an intelligent monitoring system. We delivered a snowmelt system that operates at 25% efficiency by cycling on and off for maximum efficiency, without losing surface heat.

The next was to design and produce a custom-tailored AMS® Arctic Blanket for the BOP.  This product would effectively keep the BOP at the optimal temperature in any weather condition.
