Arctic Pad® and Arctic Treads were initially selected and ordered in December 2013 for a retrofit of the vessel, due to the rapid and ease of installation. 

The retrofit areas encompassed the pathway and treads from the Pilot House to the Main Deck. Given the project's low power demands, the owner opted to employ a straightforward switchboard system to power the packages when required.

This vessel package was expanded upon to include additional non-critical areas such as access to the engine rooms for both heated pads and treads.
